2012 Olympic Games Selection Information
On Dec. 1, the International Judo Federation released information regarding the selection for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
This process will be different from that used from previous Olympic Games in that the majority of slots will be allocated based on individual athletes' positions on a World Rankings List.
A total of 14 women and 22 men per weight division will be selected by the International Judo Federation based on their position on the World Rankings List (excluding host country).
In addition, the Pan American region will be allocated eight women's and 13 men's slots across All Weight Divisions. Information regarding how these slots will be allocated will be released as soon as it is made available.
Similar to the 2008 Olympic Games, a maximum of 20 additional slots across All Weight Divisions will be given to athletes selected by the International Judo Federation.
