2004 Worlds Begins

The 2004 World BJJ Tournament starts today with the blue belt and the ladies events. Tomorrow the Purples go at it followed on Saturday by the Brown Belts and the start of the Black Belt Absolute. On Sunday the Black Belt event and finals and the Brown Belt Absoulte take place.

Day one of the 2004 Worlds and already a few surprises in the ladies competition. In the Purple/Brown/Black Feather Kyra Gracie defeated mustiple times World Champion Leticia Ribeiro to score her first Gold in the upper category. Additionally multiple times Leka Vieira failed in her bid to conquer yet another title.
