Pancrase boss Ozaki announced that most of his Pancrase fighters will be involved on the UFC 12/12 Tokyo show. Ikuhisa Minowa, Sanae Kikuta, Yoshiki Takahashi, and others (if Yuki Kondo can survive his 11/7 Tokyo Bay NK Hall fight, he wants to be on the 12/12 show) will be involved. In addition, negotiations are happening with Genki Sudo, Kaoru Uno, and Tsuyoshi Kohsaka. Will it be Pancrase/Japan vs. UFC/America for the undercard?
So... if you're to believe the Japanese, the following is occuring: The UFC show will happen on 12/12 in Tokyo (not in Osaka, not anywhere else), the local promoters are from DSE, and the majority of the Japanese fighters will be from Pancrase facing off against Americans. To top it off, the top two fights on the card will be Tito Ortiz vs. Vitor Belfort and Andrei Orlovski vs. Frank Mir for the Heavyweight Title.

SHAMROCK VS FRYE IN JAPAN?
There are plenty of rumors circulating about when Ken Shamrock will fight. He said last week that he does want to fight in Japan. The big question is who will he be fighting against.
It appears as though there seems to be some interest in bringing back a fight between Don Frye and Ken Shamrock. MMAWeekly talked with one of Frye's old training partners who said he felt Frye would defintely come back to the fight game to face Shamrock, not to mention Frye would "enjoy fighting for the new UFC."
At this point it just seems like ideas are being thrown out there. Shamrock seems interested in fighting Don Frye, and Frye seems to enjoy the prospect of fighting Shamrock again. Either way, the UFC as of yesterday has not signed Shamrock to fight in Japan, but verbal conversations have been going on according to a few reports.

UFC Japan to Feature Ludwig vs. Sudo II?
Don't Count On It.
By Ken Pishna
Though rumors have surfaced that the UFC's return to Japan in December will focus on a Genki Sudo versus Duane "Bang" Ludwig rematch, it appears that the rumors are just that, rumors.
At least they are according to Ludwig's manager, Sven "Boogie" Bean. "I spoke with both K-1 Japan and the UFC in the last 7 days regarding Ludwig and future fights. No mention of a Ludwig-Sudo rematch was
brought up. No offers have been made," said Bean.
It looks as though Ludwig will be busy to finish out the year, with three possible fights, including at least one return trip to Japan.
According to Bean, "As of right now, Duane will fight next month on a K-1 MAX event, possibly return to Japan in November, and is currently scheduled to fight in Denver in December."
Obviously, Ludwig's fight in Denver would conflict with the UFC's date of December 12th. Although that fight in Denver is to be a defense of his ISKA World Light Middleweight Muay Thai Championship, an opponent has yet to be named.
The title defense is also scheduled for Bean's own promotion, Ring of Fire, so there is some wiggle room if the UFC should come calling with a substantial offer. But as of right now, as far as Ludwig's camp is concerned, there are no plans for a rematch to take place in Japan or anytime soon.

UFC CHAMP FRANK MIR INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
The UFC's curse with the heavyweight division continues. Word came in late yesterday that UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. While riding his motorcycle, Mir was hit by a car and thrown from his bike.
Though the total extent of his injuries were not available as we posted today's news, we do know that Mir did indeed break his femur. He underwent surgery yesterday and it appears that he will be out of commission somewhere in the neighborhood of an entire year.
Obviously, this means that Mir will not be able to defend his title as expected at the UFC's big return to Japan in December. It is too soon at this time to know what, if anything, the UFC will do about the situation. Crowning an Interim Heavyweight Champion in Mir's absence is one possibility with a unification bout taking place once Mir is able to recover.
Right now though, our best wishes go out to Mir and we wish him a speedy and full recovery.
